PPPoE for Linux is pretty easy. Just use roaring penguin. RH7 has it included
although I must admit I've never tried that impementation. (using RH6.2)
But the setup is easy and I have been very happy with the performance.
Any other problems that are Ameritech specific, I wouldn't know.
