Please read all the way through about the party.

Let me restate the situation. LBE has not been canceled. The conferences
associated with LBE have been canceled. I am waiting for a phone call from
Comdex folks to see how many exhibitors are actually going to be at the
    event.

Because TheLinuxShow.Com runs like NPR (we do not charge for advertising
persay but are underwritten by gifts from vendors), we have little money
available to waste on a failed event. If we go to Comdex (to broadcast) at
all it will be to provide the moral support for the Linux vendors like
Caldera who have spent the money to come to the event. The vendors have
always liked us being at events, because we typically are pushing 800
streams at any given moment. To talk to 800 pre-qualified potential users
is a pretty good thing for them.

Having said all that, the issue of the party boils down to money. At
present, most of the pledged money from the vendors has been withdrawn
because of their being no conference. In our "party" fund is only $375.00
left over from last fall. That does not get much of a party at Dave and
Busters. So, Kevin and I are looking at just hanging on to that money and
spending it in conjunction with another event. If some funding comes
through in the next day or two we will let you know.
