I checked into Starband recently and I don't think
latentcy is the issue. (Well, maybe) The issue I think
is cost. Lets see... $69.99/Mo., $199.00 install,
$399.00 equipment, $39.00 shipping & taxes.
Approx. $700.00 just to startup. Ouch, especially for
150 - 500Kbs down and 50 - 150 Up.
Can't get cable, AT&T (Oops, I mean TCI) not here, DSL,
28,000 ft. to CO, can't do that either. I thought that
wireless would be competitive, and try to take some
business from the cable guys but I guess I'll have to
wait.
