<inserts payment of one goat>
::Okay. I have something that works *just* like that setup on the home
network: a couple of our workstations allow remote connections to xdm,
which results in an entire login session ("desktop") to display on the
laptop in the living room while running everything except the display side
(what X calls the server - that is the lesson that usually consumes the
first goat) on whichever workstation it connected to. Now that I think
about it, why, yes, you should be able to do that without xdm, but I haven't
yet bought that goat so I can't advise you of the details offhand.
What is "xdm", is it a package I have to have running on my Linux box? Is
Mandrake likely to have it as part of the distribution.
Do I need "xdm" on both my nt laptop and my Linux server?
What X server were you running on your windows machines?
