I want to clone (loosely speaking) the entire HDD of an installed, pruned and
    configured Linux system (master disk).

The installation has separate 'devices' for /boot (1st primary), / (2nd
primary), /usr (logical), swap (3rd primary), /var (logical), /home (logical)
filesystems (the partition table has 3 primary partitions and 1 extended
partition with logical partitions). All filesystems are ext2. The target HDD
capacity is >= master disk (but the resp. disk geometry may not be the same).

Can this be done using tools available in Linux w/o creating the partitions
individually and then coping them over? (I have tried dd with 2 540MB HDDs -
no good because disk geometries were different)

Alternatively, has any one tried PowerQuest's "Disk Magic" (not sure of the
name). PQ claims it can clone MS OSs and Linux.

    TIA
