There are quite a few of them: ReiserFS, Ext2, XFS (SGI), JFS (IBM).
"i am hearing about so much", this probably means ReiserFS.
Try, http://www.reiserfs.org/, and for Red Hat 7 with ReiserFS support
already in it: http://cambuca.ldhs.cetuc.puc-rio.br/
