I have got so many things wrong with my system right now it's not even
    funny.

But, I think I have narrowed the cause of all these problems to be that
/tmp is not showing up correctly:

    [morris@tbone morris_tbone_home]$ cd /tmp
    [morris@tbone /tmp]$ ls
    ls: .: Input/output error
    [morris@tbone /tmp]$

I remember I had this problem once before when I was messing around with
samba mounts. Indeed, ealier this week I think I mounted a smbfs on
/tmp, which I assume was safe to do. Now I have no shares mounted:

Filesystem 1k-blocks Used Available Use% Mounted on
    /dev/hda1 756111 568068 148985 79% /
    /dev/hdd1 1209495 816296 330705 71% /usr
    /dev/hdb 702424 365264 301480 55% /home/httpd

I suppose I could reboot, but, well, I have a really good uptime going
right now. Also, that really doesn't tell me what the problem is,
    either.

    Any thoughts?

    Andrew
