Next message: Arun Khan: "Re: [LUNI] Desktop-y distributions?"
Don't want to clutter the listserver or start a distro-war, but any
recommendations on a distro focused more as a desktop replacement? I'm
looking for 2 more distros besides Mandrake (goooooo CheapBytes...)
For a while, I only used Linux as a type of glue for my Mac and Windows
machines. Router, proxy, file/print share, etc. So, I never bothered with
X, graphics / sound support, etc. For this, I use Debian and probably
always will.
It wasn't a big deal to get a Debian desktop running, but I wouldn't mind
something relatively more consumer-ish out of the box. Plus, I always hear
about how Debian isn't that friendly and what not. I'd like to see for
myself.
Thanks,
Steve
