There still isnt a "best" choice. nVidia will be fuzzy at hi-rez,
matrox doesn't have much 3d acceleration, and 3dfx is out of business.
I would hope the Geforce 3 for $600 will be better in the clarity
department. I don't know what the status is of Voodoo 5 drivers
utilizing both processors. Last time I checked the newsgroup was down
(hosted by 3dfx). The price of the 5500's is ~$120 now. I'm still
using my old voodoo 3 3000...one of these days I gotta make a decision
and buy a new card so I can bundle the v3 with my PII and sell it.
Not that I would have the money to do it, but what if one were to build
a dual or triple head system with a Matrox G400 PCI and an nVidia
Geforce2 GTS/MX AGP...would Xfree86 4 be able to handle that? Just a
crazy thought I had the other day :)
