Isn't there a free X server available from ATT Research as part of the UWin
code ... that runs on a MS platform. Check out:
http://www.research.att.com/sw/tools/uwin/
I use the command line utilities for quick and dirty text manipulation under
windows, but haven't loaded the X software ...
