Sun comes with standard 'Sun' make in /usr/ccs/bin/make. However, most
GNU applications compile better with gcc and GNUmake. I recommend you
install GNUmake and use that instead. GNUmake installs by default in
/usr/local/bin/make. Make sure /usr/local/bin is in your PATH before
/usr/ccs/bin so the GNUmake is called. This is my 'best practices' for
compiling on Solaris.
