    I did panel > create panel > sliding panel, then added all my stuff to it. Hey,
    while I'm on the subject of GNOME, on my old box running SuSE 6.4, I could put
    in my .xinitrc:

    windowmaker &
    gnome

    and wm would fire up, then gnome would fire up and it would have its windows
    managed by windowmaker. With SuSE 7.0, it doesn't seem to do that; I run wm,
    then gnome comes up and tries to start wm again, which screws things up. Any
    idea what changed?
