Dear Linux savy peoples;
Wondering if anyone has ever had a module that hung a boot up. I have this
module for a Davicom 9102 on board ethernet controller that I can't seem to
have inserted automagically during bootup. I am running a DHCP server at
home (beside the point) that when I connect to via netcfg I can optain an ip
address but it crashes out (insert failure message). It does optain an ip
address and works fine after that. If I use linuxconf and use the module
(dmfe.o) and make sure my network starts at bootup it just hangs. Is this
something In my usage, or just a crappy module? I am extremely new, in fact
I couldn't believe it when I compiled my modules and inserted them into the
running kernel and got my network up-amazing. Any how the module resides in
the source directory and (correct me if im wrong) will only work if I do a
"insmod /usr/src/linux/lib/modules/dmfe.o" I can't do a insmod dmfe.o it
won't work. Is this module in the wrong place? Any help would be appreciated
